About The Cottages of St. Louis Park

How it all started

The Cottages Group, has been a family-owned business since its founding in 2001.  Linda Eriksmoen leaned on her background in nursing to license her home in Burnsville, MN for family adult foster careLinda with the help of her youngest son Rod accepted the very first residents in September 2001.  Linda and Rod worked tirelessly from day one providing exceptional care to the residents living in that first home.  Within 6 months of the first home being licensed, the family opened a 2nd home which was licensed and operated by Linda’s middle son Ron.  A few months later a 3rd home was added, with a 4th added in 2005 and a 5th in 2006.  Rod, Ron and Linda lived in and worked in the homes for many years as the business grewLinda focused on the nursing care of the residents; Ron handled the staffing, programming and development; Rod took care of licensing, maintenance and supplies for the growing business.  Linda’s son in law Tim joined in 2003 handling accounting and payroll for the growing business.  In 2009 The Cottages purchased 4 licensed homes in the St Cloud area and 2 licensed homes in St Louis Park; this was the first venture outside of Dakota County for The Cottages and marked a big change in both the size of the business and geographic area served.   Fast forward to today and The Cottages Group employs over 200 compassionate caring people providing housing and services at 22 locations across 5 counties in MN.  Linda retired in 2019 but her legacy of quality compassionate care lives on through our dedicated team.  Brittany Eriksmoen has succeeded her husband Ron as the CEO of The Cottages and her team of leaders continue the pursuit of exceptional service begun by Linda, Ron and Rod over 24 years ago.

Locations

The St. Louis Park residences are located near Minnetonka Blvd within blocks of each other and minutes from Lake Calhoun and the Uptown Area of Minneapolis; these residential neighborhoods are in high demand because of their location so close to many services as well as job opportunities and community activities.  The homes were built in the early 1900's and structurally offer beauty and character to go along with ample space for communal activities or to get away for some quiet time.  The homes are two or three story structures with all of the bedrooms on the upper levels, the homes have not been modified for accessibility.
